THE_BRIEF

Park Poétik is a participatory city festival that fills the streets, squares and parks of Forest and Saint-Gilles with free art and poetry each summer, co-created with residents, artists and local partners. A festival like that lives or dies on participation, so the site has to do more than list dates: it has to invite people in. The brief was a warm, playful, bilingual site that carries the programme, recruits volunteers, and holds the festival’s wider world — its manifesto, its Radio Poétik, its lending toolkit — in one place.

THE_WORK

I built the site on WordPress with Divi. A running programme and agenda anchors it, with each edition’s events easy to browse, alongside volunteer sign-ups, a video gallery, Radio Poétik, and the festival’s participatory toolkit — the Taxi Poétik and Cuistax-à-gogo people can borrow. Everything is bilingual FR/NL, and the team can publish events and news themselves as the summer takes shape. The tone is deliberately joyful and hand-made, matching a festival built by its own community.

THE_OUTCOME

Park Poétik has a home as lively and welcoming as the festival itself. Residents can find the programme, sign up to take part, and follow the year’s edition as it grows, while the team keeps it all current themselves. Managed hosting keeps it dependable through the busy summer season — so the focus stays on the art in the streets, not the site behind it.
